Liberty has built a community that embraces diversity and advocates for equality. This is why we have introduced a range of leading initiatives to help empower women in the workplace.
Liberty is proudly endorsed by Work180 – an employment platform which pre-screens employers to see how well they support women’s careers. Work180 considers policies like paid parental leave, pay equity, flexible working arrangements, employee engagement scores and more.
As part of our commitment to achieving gender equality, we work closely with the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA). This helps us monitor and improve opportunities for women at Liberty and benchmark our progress.
We are proud to have made significant progress in reducing the gender pay gap. Our efforts in past years are evidenced in the 2022-2023 results shown in the WGEA Industry Benchmark Report. We remain committed to leading our industry to continue this work.

Committed to supporting women within the wider industry, we have an ongoing partnership with the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia (MFAA). This partnership has supported us to contribute to the Opportunities for Women report and participate in MFAA panel discussion events.
Liberty believes that good leadership is at the heart of guiding a desired culture. It supports and empowers its female leaders through initiatives including a leadership working group program (monthly small support groups for leaders at all levels), regular women in leadership workshops and a tailored learning and development program. Between quarterly workshops, smaller “café group” of women leaders meet to support, encourage and empower one another, facilitated by a world-renowned clinical mindfulness consultant and transformative educator.
Designed to support women and their partners undergoing fertility treatments, our policy acknowledges the challenges that couples undergoing treatment face and offer compassion, understanding and support.
For some parents, raising children can require extended periods of time away from work which can impact their career plans and financial future.
At Liberty, we offer primary caregivers up to 52 weeks of leave, with the option to request a further 52 weeks leave. During this time, they will receive 13 weeks of full-time pay and will continue to accrue annual leave, personal leave, long-service leave, superannuation payments and the Liberty health and wellbeing subsidy.
We are proud to provide our Liberty parents with the option to bring their kids with them to work during the school holidays for the KidsCo program – providing childcare and education in the convenience of our own workplace. This program is also available virtually for those working from home.

“Working at Liberty, I am free to be me. I don’t have to hide who I am or pretend to be something I’m not. I’m a naturally curious person and at Liberty, my curiosity has a home. Liberty has expanded my awareness about what it means to celebrate diversity and inclusion. Liberty pulls me up to a higher vantage point, providing new perspectives and a level of awareness that makes me want to do my bit, and make this world a better place. I’m proud to work at Liberty.”
"It has been exciting to experience the shift that has taken place at Liberty over the last five years, where I have witnessed many talented, capable young women taking on leadership positions. What lies at the heart of this shift is not just promoting women, but mentoring women and building their confidence. This encourages them to put their hand up for roles they may have not thought they were capable of before."
“As a female leader with family responsibilities, there is the inevitable juggle to manage, and I value the encouragement and support that Liberty provides. The strong representation of women in leadership positions and diversity of team members in our business is testament to Liberty's commitment to equal opportunity.”
"Liberty has a strong focus on supporting women in finance, and they are very mindful of offering equal opportunities. What’s different about Liberty is that they see every member of our community as a whole person – not just a number. They look outside the box at transferable skills and capabilities and encourage women to advance in their careers and move into new roles throughout the business."
